Basic Meet Information:

Meet Description:

  • The NCSAA Track and Field Championships offers a high-value competitive and team-building experience -- in a Christ-centered environment -- for your high school and junior-high track and field teams.  Highly organized and hosted an excellent facilities, the event provides the excitement of participating in a major track and field event for teams of all sizes and competitive levels.

Meet Format:

  • This tournament is open to Christian and private schools from any region of the country.
  • Homeschool teams and athletes are also welcome to participate.
  • Boys and girls in grades 9-12 are eligible to compete in the High School Division, and boys and girls in grades 6-8 are eligible to compete in the Junior-High Division.  You may obtain a waiver (verbal approval) for 5th grade athletes to participate, if necessary, by contacting NCSAA in advance of the meet.
  • Boys' and girls' teams will be scored separately -- in four divisions (Senior High Boys, Senior High Girls, Junior High Boys, Junior High Girls).
  • The meet format will include separate scoring divisions for large schools and small schools.

Closing Ceremony and Awards:

  • All participating teams will be recognized during the closing ceremony, which will also include a special recognition of the coaches of all teams.
  • Awards will be presented to the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division.  Most Outstanding Athlete awards will be announced at the closing ceremony, and individual ribbons will also be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

Christ-Centered Environment and Team-Building Opportunities:

  • This meet is held in a distinctly Christ-centered environment -- from the setting on a Christian college campus (which we hope teams aned families will take time to visit), to the  devotional challenge and Opening Prayer at the start of the meet, to the spirit of mutual encouragement and healthy competition typically displayed at this event, to the ministry and outreach opportunities presented (as part of the NCSAA Hearts and Minds Project) to your team during the event, to the unified time of team fellowship and prayer for at the Closing Ceremony.  This NCSAA event is distinctive in its goal of being more than just an athletic event; we desire that your athletes experience the joy of Christ-centered competition and respond to the challenge of using their gifts in such a way to honor Christ during their time at this event!
  • Various Christian colleges and universities sponsor this meet, and we will make available an informational kiosk where students and families can pick up brochures and other itesm from the various colleges.  When your team is at the meet, you can encourage your athletes to visit the kiosk and do some research into the schools. Teams that attend our meet have remarked that this feature has been very valuable, as the event doubles as an opportunity to expose your athletes to the value of and options for Christian education beyond high school.

Beneficial Exposure for Your Athletes:

  • Each team's top athletes will be recognized in the "Athletes to Watch" section of the booklet given to all college coaches who attend the event (as well as many college coaches that request these materials after the meet). This opportunity presents your athletes with a great opportunity to be seen by college coaches, scouts, and recruiters -- many of whom attend the meet.

Withdrawals:

We understand that occasionally there may be reason for a team to withdraw from a meet, after having already registered.  If any team must withdraw after already registering for the meet, that team still will be expected to honor its commitment to pay the full team registration fees.  NCSAA must budget based on the number of registered teams, and all fees for all registered spots are critical in order to plan for and conduct a successful meet.  Thanks for your understanding of this!
